There are 3 options for collecting payment for paid event tickets. (Remember, free events are free)
Option 1 - Freshtix Processing (best value)
By selecting Freshtix processing and making the ticket buyer pay the fee you will collect the most money with Freshtix processing, the default option.
One advantage to the ticket buyer is that they never leave the site - making the ticket buying process truly frictionless.
The fee is calculated as: $1.75 + 3% + 3%
For a $10.00 ticket, the fee is $2.35 (the ticket buyer pays a total of $12.35). When the fee is added on top and paid by the ticket buyer you get the full $10 for each ticket sold.
Your funds are processed the first business day following your event.
If you opt to use your own PayPal account, the funds from each ticket sale are deposited into your account as each ticket sale is completed. Our fee is then deducted.
One disadvantage is that the ticket buyer must leave the site to complete the transaction via PayPal.
Another disadvantage is that PayPal may charge you more than if you opted to use Freshtix processing.
The fee is calculated as: $1.75 + 3%. PayPal deducts their fee from the total amount deposited to your account.
For a $10.00 ticket, the fee is $2.05 (the ticket buyer pays a total of $12.35). When the fee is added on top and paid by the ticket buyer you get $10.00 minus the fee charged by PayPal.
For each ticket sold you collect less than Option 1.
Your funds are deposited into your account each day that sales occur. (Subject to PayPal's terms)
Option 3 - Own Merchant Processor
Choose to use your own merchant processor and the funds from each ticket sale (minus our fee) are deposited into your account daily (as long as sales occur).
One disadvantage is that the ticket buyer must leave the site to complete the transaction using your payment gateway.
Another disadvantage is that your processing fees may not be as good as ours.
The fee is calculated as: $1.75 + 3% - then your merchant processor takes their percentage.
For a $10.00 ticket, the fee is $2.05. When the fee is added on top and paid by the ticket buyer you get $10.00 less the fee charged by your merchant processor.
For each ticket sold you collect less than Option 1.
Your funds are deposited into your account each day that sales occur. (Subject to your merchant agreement)
