Tax Settings

Tax Settings Overview

In certain jurisdictions, Freshtix is required to collect and remit sales tax on applicable U.S. ticket sales unless you are exempt. If you host live events and are located in the United States, tax applicability is determined by your venue’s location.

To review or update tax collection for an event:

  1. Navigate to Edit Your Event

  2. Select Tax Settings

  3. Answer the questions presented

Based on your responses, additional Tax Options may become available.

Changing Tax Settings After Sales Begin

Once tickets have been sold, changes to Tax Settings are restricted to admins only. This is because modifying tax settings may impact the tax rate applied to tickets.

Please note:

  • Changes to tax settings do not affect previously sold tickets

  • Updating tax rates after sales have occurred may result in a surplus or shortage in the total tax collected or remitted for the event

If you need to make changes after tickets have been sold, please contact Freshtix Client Support for assistance.

Important Note

Freshtix cannot provide tax advice. If you have questions about your tax obligations, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional.
