Change number of tickets available

The number of tickets available for an event is controlled in 2 places.

  1. The number of tickets available for each Price Type
  2. The maximum capacity of the venue

The easiest place to change the number of tickets available is the 'Price Type'.

Follow these simple steps to change the number of tickets available.

  1. Sign in to Freshtix.com
  2. Click on 'Manage Events'
  3. Click on the name of your event to open your Dashboard
  4. Click "Edit Your Event"
  5. Click on the 'Tickets' tab to the left.
  6. You can edit the number of tickets available in the Quantity Box.

 

Venue capacity vs number of tickets available

For some events, we know that the number of tickets available is determined by the size of the venue or the facility where the event is being held.

For example:

  • Your event takes place in a large ballroom
  • The maximum number of guests is 5,000
  • You have 2 ticket types: 
    • Adult
    • Child
  • It doesn't matter how many adult or child tickets you sell, as long as you don't sell more than 5,000 tickets. 
  • You could sell 2,000 Adult tickets and 3,000 Child tickets
  • Or, you could sell 4,000 Adult tickets and only 1,000 Child ticket
  • But you can't sell more than 5,000 tickets

If your event is similar to this, use these settings

  • Set the venue capacity to 5,000
  • Make 5,000 Adult tickets available
  • Make 5,000 Child tickets available

The system will automatically stop sales at 5,000 regardless how many Adult or Child tickets have been sold.

 

 You can edit venue capacity by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to Freshtix.com
  2. Click on 'Manage Events'
  3. Click on the name of your event to open your Dashboard
  4. Click "Edit Your Event"
  5. Click on the 'General Information' tab to the left.
  6. Click the green edit button next to venue name
  7. Edit the number in the 'capacity' box
